THE LOLLYDAY INN

Are you looking for a beautiful beach vacation house that is just a short walk to one of the best kept secrets in the Caribbean? Then look no further! The LollyDay Inn is a brand new home located between West End and West Bay on the beautiful island of Roatán.

Roatan Island has so much to offer!

It is adjacent to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (MBRS), also known as the Great Mayan Reef. This is the second largest barrier reef in the world. It stretches over 620 miles from the tip of the Yucatán Peninsula to the Bay Islands of Honduras. Diving off the coast of Roatán will be one of the best experiences you’ve ever had!!! Not a diver? No worries! Snorkeling here is some of the best in the world. And if you think you want to try diving, this is the place to get certified! There are many reputable dive instructors on the island and you can try it out while here. There’s no better place to get certified if you’ve been considering it. Be sure to ask and we can give you recommendations of where to go.

There are so many fun things to do on the island. Zip lines are a favorite! Visiting sloths, monkeys, and iguanas for the animal lovers is always a must. There are dolphin encounters and shark dives. When you want to get away from the beach,  West End offers lots of great restaurants and local shopping. Be sure to catch the water taxi near our home at the Clearwater dock and take a short boat ride over to West Bay Beach for the day. You will love it! If you prefer, you can even walk the beach and be there in 20 minutes!!

Do you want a true island experience, visiting areas off the beaten path and seeing more local culture? We can direct you to people who would  love to show you their island home.

ROATAN

Roatan has long been one of the top diving destinations in the world. Being located near the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean Sea, people come from all over to experience some of the most desired diving spots. Tourists come from around the world to experience excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities,  as well as beautiful beach life, numerous water sports , deep-sea fishing excursions, and much more that this sweet little island offers.

Transportation :

Taxis are readily available in most areas. We also have names of drivers we personally know who would be glad to help out. It is common to bargain with drivers and see what they are willing to accept for a reasonable fare. You can expect a price of around $30-40 from the airport to West Bay.

You can take a water taxi during daylight between West Bay and West End for around $3 per person each way. Just go to the dock at the beach near our home and flag one down. We also have phone numbers in the guest packet to call for water taxis.

Most of the island accepts the US dollar. Change is usually given in Honduran lempiras.  The exchange rate is currently around 24.6 lempiras to one dollar. There are ATM machines on the island, but they aren’t always reliable. We have found the one in the airport to work most of the time.

Many places will also take your debit and credit cards. However, cash is king and the easiest.

Be sure to bring lots of small dollar bills for tipping. Ones and Fives are great. You will meet lots of people that you will fall in love with, and will definitely want to tip them well!
